The dataset in this repository — every file under `data/` (the JSON, CSV, and
SQLite outputs) — is licensed under the **Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0**.

## Human-readable summary

You are free to:

- **Share** — copy, distribute, and use the database.
- **Create** — produce works from the database.
- **Adapt** — modify, transform, and build upon the database.

Under the following terms:

- **Attribution** — You must give appropriate credit to the
  "vehicle-makes-models" project and to autoevolution.com as the upstream
  source of make/model/generation/engine data. Provide a link to this
  repository and indicate if changes were made.
- **Share-Alike** — If you publicly use any adapted version of this database,
  or works produced from an adapted database, you must also offer that adapted
  database under the ODbL.
- **Keep open** — If you redistribute the database, or an adapted version of
  it, you may impose contractual restrictions on private copies, but you must
  also make a publicly available version available under the ODbL.

## Sources

Make/model/generation/engine facts were compiled, collapsed, and normalized
from publicly available information on autoevolution.com. Egypt-market
additions (e.g. Speranza, El Nasr) are original curation by this project.

The code in this repository (everything outside `data/`) is licensed
separately under the MIT License — see `LICENSE`.
